Mindfulness for stress and anxiety
This course is specially designed for graduate and undergraduate students who may be experiencing the pressure of research deadlines or exams. It runs over four consecutive weeks and attendance is expected at each session and participants will be required to keep a log of their experiences as the course progresses. To make the course available and to not conflict with weekday teaching it is being held on Saturdays starting on the 11th of April 2026 at 11.30 am.
“Stress is not the best driver of performance. If you’ve never questioned whether stress is the best and only driver of performance, then stress will be inevitable. Students often blindly take on this assumption and then talk to each other in a way that keeps that belief. The only way that stress improves performance is by lifting one out of apathy and inertia. After that it is attention and focus we bring to the task that drive performance, not stress.”
Hassad and Chambers – Mindful Learning.
There is no fee for this course. There is a course sourcebook that you will need to purchase (< £20) or loan from a library. Additional resources will be made available as the course progresses.
